Future City Competition is a program established by the National Engineers Week Foundation, a consortium of professional and technical societies and major U.S. corporations. Founded in 1992-1993, there are over 40 regional competitions held each year in the U.S. Teams of middle school aged children participate around the country in January and February.
In 2013, New Mexico was granted a new region to compete in the National Competition. Since then, New Mexico has held this annual STEM event for 20+ teams across the state. New Mexico Future City Competition is an outreach event organized/sponsored by the Association of Chinese-American Engineers & Scientists of New Mexico.
