Job Corps is the nations oldest and largest training program for economically disadvantaged young adults. Established in 1964, Job Corps provides vocational, academic, and social skills training in a residential setting to nearly 70,000 young Americans, aged 16-24 each year. It provides free education and training services including medical,clothing and counseling services. The Albuquerque, Roswell and Talking Leaves, OK Job Corps Cent is one of 122 community centers nation-wide. Job Corp Centers provide academic, vocational, and life skills training, as well as a GED program and on-site High School Diploma Charter School. Work based learning is an additional learning strategy. Job skills include: Business Office Technology, Nursing Assistant, Welding, Carpentry, Electrical Wiring, Facilities Maintenance, Plumbing and Cement Masonry.
