NMLC is a regional, non-profit land conservation organization that works with private landowners, community groups, non-profits, agricultural organizations and public agencies to protect high conservation value lands (including significant wildlife habitat, productive agricultural lands, scenic open space, cultural and historic sites, and recreational lands) at community, watershed and landscape scales. To date, NMLC has completed over 110 conservation easement transactions, permanently protecting over 325,000 acres of high conservation value lands through New Mexico and in southeastern Arizona.
The New Mexico Land Conservancy (NMLC) was established in 2002 to help preserve New Mexico's land heritage by protecting significant wildlife habitat, productive agricultural lands, scenic open space, cultural and historic sites, and recreational lands for conservation purposes and public benefits. Our mission is to preserve New Mexico's land heritage by helping people conserve the places they love.
