NM School for the Blind and Visually Impaired

NMSBI is committed to providing a comprehensive program of developmental, educational, training and support services to blind or visually impaired infants and toddlers or those at risk for visual impairment and their families. Consultation to the family and/or community service providers, therapists, etc. Direct services to the child and family. Functional Vision Evaluation. Developmental intervention strategies to support vision. Information on specific eye disorders or vision problems. Referral and resource information for families. Consultation/participation in arena (whole child) assessments. Participation in IFSP and other team meetings. Transition support. Parent support.

The New Mexcio School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Foundation (NMSBVI F)provides funds to support the programs and services of the New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (NMSBVI). NMSBVI, an innovative leader and unifying entity in the field of educating students birth-high school who are blind or visually impaired, will identify and ensure quality education through collaborative relationships with students, families, and local/ state/national partners to provide outstanding advocacy, training, resources, and support services, thus ensuring that all students who are blind or visually impaired will become independent, productive members of their communities.
