NM Eviction Prevention and Diversion/

Parent Organization
NM Eviction Prevention and Diversion

Currently (2025) Serving Santa Fe County, NM, with rental assistance funds AND Community Justice Worker Services. In June 2025, added Community Justice Worker service availability in Rio Arriba and Taos Counties.

Referrals are being accepted for Community Justice Worker Services. NMEPD’s Community Justice Workers conduct effective, culturally appropriate outreach to tenants in jeopardy of eviction due to non-payment of rent. Community Justice Workers engage tenants in empathetic, lived-experience-based assessment and action plan development. Community Justice Workers can provide informal shuttle mediation between landlords and tenants; and they can provide limited legal advice, assistance, tools, and guidance with attorney oversight. NMEPD can occasionally provide direct attorney representation.

In Santa Fe County, NMEPD offers both rental assistance funds and Community Justice Worker services. However, NMEPD has no rental assistance dollars available for renters in Taos or Rio Arriba Counties.

To reach the NMEPD Community Justice Workers, call 505-216-6166 or email Mmarmash@nmevictionprevention.com.   Spanish speakers may call 505-216-6505 or email Msoto@nmevictionprevention.com.
