Established in 1994, Wildlife West is a 122-acre wildlife refuge/zoo open to the public year round. It is home to 20 species of rescued, non-releasable native wildlife: black bear, cougars, pronghorn, grey foxes, crested caracaras and more. Visitors get a rare opportunity to get close to wildlife in a simulation of their habitat in the wild. We received “Best of the City 2018” from ABQ The Magazine for best place to be one with nature.
We are a multi-faceted organization, sponsoring Chuckwagon dinners, barn dances, Old-fashion hay rides, junior zookeeper day camps for kids and festivals.
To preserve the rich heritage of native wildlife and their habitat through education, scientific research and the sponsorship of Wildlife West Nature Park.
