The New Mexico Highlands University Foundation, Inc. (known hereafter as the Foundation) is organized exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 50I(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provisions of any future United States Internal Revenue Law). The Foundation shall operate exclusively for the benefit of New Mexico Highlands University (known hereafter as Highlands University), through the Board of Regents of Highlands University, an arm of the State of New Mexico, or any organization that may be established to succeed the Board of Regents of Highlands University in the operation of any of the facilities of Highlands University. The Foundation and its records are not subject to the New Mexico Open Meetings Act. The mission of the New Mexico Highlands University Foundation is to provide support to benefit students of the University and the University as a whole through the acquisition, development, and administration of financial and other resources.
