The Non-Metro Area Agency on Aging provides funding to Senior Programs in every New Mexico County except Bernalillo (which is served by the Albuquerque AAA). Referring agency for senior citizens and their families. Works with local, state and federal agencies to design and administer the programs that meet seniors' needs today and plan for all our needs in the future. Persons 60 years of age or their spouse regardless of age qualify for these services without any income requirement. The services provided can include meals at senior centers, home delivered meals, transportation and homemaker services.
Non-Metro Area Agency on Aging role is to develop a comprehensive service delivery plan which assists older persons to maintain their independence and dignity while ensuring accountability and quality service delivery. Non-Metro AAA conducts in the 32 county geographical area. This community based delivery system may be provided directly or through the subcontracting process.
