OteroSTEM is developing an extensive plan for growth in offering Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) to New Mexico students through robotics.
OteroSTEM will work with New Mexico teams to develop basic machine use safety knowledge; understanding of basic machine operation and hands-on experience; and piece part design and assembly. In addition, students gain opportunity to work with mentors of all ages and employment status, including retired persons and veterans.
To promote, connect, fund and support activities that invigorate student interest in STEM careers. A 501(c)(3) non-profit, comprising of scientists, engineers and teachers involved in STEM outreach to produce a formal programs that help remedy shortfalls through several stages of growth. To develop partnerships that grow our corps of volunteers from U.S.A.F. base and from schools, and develop funding sources which allow introduction of a broad variety of programs to a large audience of students. All stages centered around the concept of OteroSTEM as a leader in STEM education, coordination and outreach, so that all regional parties with an interest in STEM education have a one-stop-shop for support and funding of their STEM interests. OteroSTEM helps organize programs, recruit volunteers and market STEM activities.
