Quivira Coalition

Quivira programs serve ranchers and farmers, conservationists, scientists, teachers and students, government and tribal agency personnel, and business people committed to progressive natural resources management. A recent survey showed that the Quivira community directly influences the stewardship of more than 12.8 million acres of agricultural and other lands throughout the United States.

Quivira develops, collects, and disseminates innovative techniques for progressive grasslands and riparian restoration, with a focus on food production, carbon sequestration for climate mitigation, and collaborations across urban-rural and environmental-agricultural boundaries. Our New Agrarian Program provides training for the next generation of food producers and land stewards. The annual Quivira Conference is a place where ranchers and farmers, environmentalists, scientists, public land managers, and others with an interest in the stewardship of arid and semi-arid landscapes meet to share ideas and hear from practitioners at the forefront of innovation and implementation. Our publications and educational offerings inspire hope in an era of increasing environmental and economic instability.

Quivira Coalition

The Quivira Coalition fosters resilience on arid working lands. To create a culture of land stewardship that integrates ecological, economic, and social health, we work in coalition with ranchers and farmers, landowners and managers, public agencies, conservationists and environmentalists, students and educators, and the general public. We believe this culture is rooted in three areas of practice: education, innovation, and collaboration.
