Friends of the Shelter: Supporting the Valencia County animal shelter and the shelter animals as a resource to; assist in fund raising to provide supplies, advising on shelter care and standards, and promoting shelter animals through adoptions and transfers.Education: Provide weekly pet photos & bios, shelter statistics and local animal related events and monthly educational articles about animal care, such as vaccinations, dental care, spay/neuter, house training, lost and found pets, disaster prepare, dog bite prevention, in the Valencia County News-Bulletin.Legislation: Research and providing information to local government concerning recommended and current animal control ordinances.Enchantment Chihuahua Rescue: rehabilitating and placing rescue Chihuahuas from New Mexico. A foster home based program that provides medical care and training for homeless Chihuahuas. Placement requires adoption application, home visit and reference checks for suitable placements balancing the needs of the dog and desires of the home.SNIP: (Spay/Neuter Incentive Program)Grant based program to assist low income families in Valencia County to spay or neuter their pets.
Our mission is to help individual animals be adopted; assist other non-profit rescue organizations to place their animals; provide education which will result in more successful permanent adoptions; and assist in the research and promote legislation to enhance animal regulations.
