After school recreation is provided for children grades K-8. Arts and crafts, team sports, field trips and study halls are all provided through this program. The before school youth recreation program is provided for Alameda Elementary School only. Summer recreation programs are provided for children from age 5-14 and the child must have completed kindergarten. The Bernalillo County Children's Literacy Program is a free program for students in Bernalillo County. Other programs include mid-school dances, cheer, little league, soccer, bmx, head start, and school on wheels.
