The Rio Grande Food Project food pantry provides supplemental and emergency food to hungry New Mexican children, youth, adults and seniors in the Albuquerque metro area. Households can pick up a week’s worth of groceries once a month (visits must be 30 days apart).
What you need to bring: a photo ID, or a copy or picture of a photo ID (if available) for all adults in the household and some form of documentation to show guardianship of any children (under the age of 18) in the household (Medicaid card, social security card, birth certificate, etc.).
Food boxes are distributed according the number of persons in the household and include commodities, fresh produce/bread, dry, canned and frozen food. Food is purchased from Roadrunner Food Bank and other food distributors.
Vision: A community in which all people have access to enough quality food to maintain good health.
Mission: To alleviate hunger and food insecurity in Albuquerque directly by providing emergency food aid and indirectly by facilitating access to programs that address the causes and effects of hunger and food insecurity.
