New Mexico is ranked as one of the hungriest and most poverty stricken states in the nation. Roadrunner® Food Bank, a Feeding America member, is the largest non-profit dedicated to solving hunger in New Mexico and operates locations in Albuquerque and Las Cruces. As the largest Food Bank in the state, we distribute more than 26 million pounds every year to a network of hundreds of partner agencies and regional food banks helping nearly 40,000 children, seniors and adults weekly. In turn, these agencies provide food directly to the hungry in our communities across the state. Agencies we serve include food pantries, shelters, group homes, soup kitchens, low-income senior housing sites, and regional food banks.
Roadrunner Food Bank provides food assistance throughout New Mexico by providing food to hundreds of partner agencies which includes food pantries, soup kitchens, and other hunger-relief programs in both rural and urban communities. Through the Food Bank's Food Referral line, people seeking help with food are able to obtain help from one of our hunger-relief partners located in communities throughout the state. A majority of the food distributed through our network of partner agencies is provided to hungry people through our Food Rescue Program.
Roadrunner Food Bank kept 22 million pounds of food out of landfills last year through its Food Rescue Program.
