One-on-one volunteer tutoring program designed to help adults with reading & writing. Based on the slogan "Each One, Teach One", Project Read matches trained volunteers with motivated adults needing to improve their basic communication skills. Training sessions, books, and tutoring services are free. Project Read is comprised of people who want to learn to help themselves and people willing to teach others how to develop basic skills in reading and writing. Complete confidentiality can be assured. Volunteers are provided training. Students and their tutors are carefully prescreened and matched for the best possible teaching relationship.
