Santa Fe Independent Film Festival

Each year, SFIFF expands NM’s tourism season into mid-October, following the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. We’re anticipating 13,000 guests for our 11th annual festival, Oct. 16-20, 2019. SFIFF presents five days of outstanding films, educational panels, filmmaker Q&As, and networking events. During the fest, SFIFF takes time to honor industry professionals that have excelled in the cinematic arts. Past attendees have included Ethan Hawke, Robert Redford, Shirley MacLaine, Wes Studi, and George R.R. Martin.

The Festival also maintains high artistic standards while working to benefit underserved individuals. We support these individuals by waiving application fees to filmmakers from impoverished areas, hosting free public screenings, providing free admission to attendees from underserved communities, and by programming socially relevant films to non-mainstream audiences. SFIFF prioritizes our community’s youth by providing complimentary tickets to local students. We also host workshops to engage these young scholars and offer guidance for those dreaming of pursuing a career in film.

Native-led and serving organization.
