Society for Ecological Restoration - SW chapter

2017 Annual Conference:  From December 6-8, 2017, the Society for Ecological Restoration - Southwest Chapter (SER-SW) will be holding our annual meeting in Albuquerque to share lessons learned, provide learning and professional development opportunities to attendees, and to grow our membership in New Mexico. The Geographic Region represented by the SER-SW Chapter includes the states of Arizona and New Mexico in their entirety.  The Sonoran and Mojave Deserts are also included where they reach into California, Nevada, and Utah. Within Utah, the Southwest Chapter encompasses the Colorado Plateau and borders the southeastern edge of the SER Great Basin Chapter boundary. With this meeting, it is our sincere hope to engage more New Mexicans in the organization, to improve restoration practice and research in the state, as it comprises a large portion of our geographic region.

Society for Ecological Restoration - Southwest Chapter

The SER Southwest (SW) Chapter was formed in 2011 to facilitate communication and encourage coordination amongst land managers, researchers, and restorationists working in the southwestern United States, where minimal and variable precipitation presents unique challenges for the restoration of degraded ecosystems.  The SW Chapter’s mission is to foster a network of resource specialists with interest and expertise in restoring desert and other arid ecosystems and to promote the exchange of knowledge, awareness, and collaborative opportunities as a means of sustaining the diversity of life on Earth and reestablishing an ecologically healthy relationship between nature and culture.
