The Socorro County Fair and PRCA Rodeo is Labor Day weekend every year. It involves livestock and horticulture shows along with many other categories. This is an opportunity for Socorro county youth and adults to showcase their achievements throughout the year. There is also other contests including a salsa contest, haystacking contest, and chainsaw contest. As part of the Fair, there is a PRCA Rodeo both Friday and Saturday night. On Saturday there is a Junior Livestock Sale, which is designed to support our youth in agriculture.
Our goal is to educate and promote the agricultural, horticultural and animal husbandry industry and lifestyle in Socorro county, New Mexico. We accomplish this by educating our youth by providing opportunities to own and care for livestock, develop horticultural and showmanship skills, and manage a budget. By working with our youth, we are helping sustain a healthy agricultural community.
