It is the mission of the Socorro Public Library to meet the educational, cultural, and recreational needs of local residents. Our staff provides services and programs for area youth and adults which encourage reading, learning and literacy including: weekly pre-school story times; weekly "Books 'n More" programs for children 7 and older, monthly Makerspace events, the "Reading is Fundamental" program, which distributes books to Socorro children in Pre-K through third grade; and our Summer Reading Program. We also provide wireless access to the internet, fifteen public computer work stations, interlibrary loan services, and access to a wide variety of resources through the reference desk. We do our best to provide our patrons with modern library materials in a variety of formats.
The mission of the Socorro Public Library is to meet the evolving educational, cultural, and recreational needs of local residents by providing modern library resources and services. The library strives to acquire materials, plan programs, and provide services that reflect an understanding and consideration of the community served with concern given for all ages, backgrounds, interests, abilities, and levels of education.
