St. Anthony’s Caring Foundation developed the Compassionate Care Companions Program (CCCP) to deliver listening and compassion services to St. Anthony’s Home Healthcare clients. CCCP was developed by a professional spiritual director and teacher on the need for reaching out to those suffering from illness, disability, aging, and addiction with listening and caring. St. Anthony’s Home Healthcare provides experienced nurses and professional and domestic caregivers training as well as direct services, including a full range of professional, non-medical, at-home services for the elderly and disabled, and for persons of all ages who are experiencing a medical or addiction crisis.
Today, CCCP has expanded to serve all eligible clients within its service area including Albuquerque, Los Lunas, and Belen. It is not affiliated with any religious organization, and offers services to all faiths. There is no attempt to proselytize.
The Foundation seeks support to help expand its capacity and make its services more accessible, responsive, and capable of meeting the needs of a wider number of New Mexicans in our service area, particularly the underserved. Success is measured by increases in spiritual wellbeing and quality of life of each client as evidenced by patient and caregiver surveys and other feedback.
St. Anthony’s Caring Foundation (SACF), a nonprofit organization, began as a pilot program in 2016 under the auspices of St. Anthony’s Home Healthcare Services LLC, a for-profit organization. The Foundation’s mission is to help those burdened with poverty, debilitating disease, isolation, or distress to rediscover hope, inner peace, and comfort through meaningful, compassionate visits from trained spiritual counselors. Proceeds from St. Anthony’s Home Healthcare help fund SACF operations.
