The Memory Cafe of St. John’s in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a cafe-styled outreach which provides individuals with memory loss AND their care partners a safe, supportive, and engaging place to interact with peers as they come together for fun and fellowship. Memory Cafe Albuquerque was started by St. John’s United Methodist Church in response to the growing population of persons with memory loss & Alzheimer’s and the dementia care culture. Offering refreshments, social interaction, information, music, and an occasional speaker. Activities routinely include give back/pay forward activities that reach into the community. No reservations are required and there is no fee, although donations are kindly accepted. Memory Cafe Albuquerque is facilitated by a core group of volunteers with support from various musicians and church staff.
