The Assistant Camera w/ Acting for the Camera Training program is a recurring Free 2-day intensive facilitated by instructors who are union members from ICG 600, SAG-Aftra, and local IATSE 480. We partner with local studios for sound stages to hold the training, Panavision for 2 Arri Alexa camera packages, MBS & Cinelease for electric, and Maleko Grip & Rigging for dolly and track to create an immersive, industry-specific learning environment. Students learn from key position instructors in their chosen field (Assistant Camera, Acting, Sound, Grip, Gaffer, Prop Maker) over 2 days, a 2 camera shoot of scenes of the Acting students that later are edited into reels for the Actors by our Avid Training students.
The intent of our hands-on training is to create immersive learning experiences that reflect the environment and culture of the film and television industry, modeling safe set protocols, nomenclature, and set etiquette, mentorship with industry professionals, skill-building, and exposure to industry quality equipment and work environments. New Mexico's film industry is on the precipice of a major expansion and in need of experienced, capable crew. Our hands-on training programs bridge the gap between formal education and film. The goal is it train New Mexicans for the workforce in front of and behind the camera through these dynamic experiential learning environments.
Stagecoach Foundation, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to creating career pathways for New Mexicans in front of and behind the camera through free training facilitated by film and television professionals.
