Project 50 will target, but will not be limited to, African American youth in the City of Albuquerque to prepare them to enter the job market. Emphasis will be placed on young people, ages 16-30. Many of the individuals in this age group have limited skills and limited opportunities, and there may be a correlation between this group and the ever increasing crime rate.
Participant Goals and Objectives:
Prepare participants to enter the job market.
Provide training to improve the social, emotional and physical skills necessary to obtain employment and the coping skills to stay on the job.
To increase self worth, personal accountability and responsibility.
Develop life management skills.
Develop individual and professional goals.
To obtain gainful employment, enrollment in an industry certificate course or enrollment in a local college or apprenticeship program for each participant involved in the training program.
Participants will develop a strategy, identify potential employers and participate in an actual job search. We will critique their efforts and refine their approach. Project employees will also work to develop job opportunities.
The mission of the Success Institute of America, Inc. is to improve the lives of the disadvantaged and marginalized individuals through training and personal development programs that promote self esteem, education and employment uplift.
