Project Description: Taos Children’s Theatre (TCT) proposes a theatre/dance production performed by a multigenerational cast in 6 performances for the schools and community. The script, based on a folktale, myth or classic will be designed to suit actors talents. Student casts (ages 7-17) of 30 actors are supported by 15 adult performers and staff. Adult performers interact as supportive mentors with young actors. This is a six week theatre/dance immersion in the theatrical process. Participating artists teach exceptional skills: Stage combat; improvisation; dance; stage speech and mentor student actors. In the process cast and staff become a dynamic theatre family supporting the unfolding talents, instilling greater self esteem and expanded creative vision.
