Teen Court of Lea County
Teen Court of Lea County/

Teen Court of Lea County

Program offers an alternative to regular sentencing procedures for first time offenders by having the juvenile offender appear in Teen Court. The juvenile must admit his guilt and appear before a jury of his peers. The prosecution and defense are both juveniles volunteering through the teen court program. The defendant is sentenced to community service and jury duty. After successfully completing the Teen Court, "Teen Court Appearance"appears on the juvenile's record instead of the crime.
