The Y is dedicated to nurturing the potential of children and adults through health-focused opportunities. At the Y, we believe that every child who wants to play basketball, or learn Tae Kwon Do, or go to Y Camp should have that opportunity... and that our After School Care program is not just for those families that can afford it... and if an individual wants to become healthier and lead a more active lifestyle, price should not be a deterrent. No one is turned away from the Y for inability to pay.
Our work includes youth and family healthy living and active lifestyle programs (recreation and fitness); after school and summer camp family support; and positive youth development programs for teens in Española and Los Alamos. We serve individuals living in Rio Arriba, Sandoval, Santa Fe and Los Alamos counties, and we have facilities or outreach presence in Los Alamos, White Rock and Espanola. We impact health through two YMCA Centers, two Teen Centers, five After-School Sites, and two Camp Programs. The Y hosts teen employment and community service-learning programs.
Our mission is to build individual, family and community strength by focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, and to ensure access to all through charitable support. The mission of our Española YMCA Teen Center is to strengthen the efficacy of community youth through educational support and positive youth development programs.
