New Mexico Girls Ranch

Residential child care for girls age 10 to 18. Family therapy and counseling, foster care and adoption for infants to 12. When residents enter the program, each lives in a cottage with nine other residents of the same gender and a married couple who act as Resident Advisors. The family-style approach helps them learn how to function as family members and develop healthy peer relationships. The ranch assigns chores that teach responsibility, teamwork, and respect for authority. The residents also participate in athletics, horseback riding, camping, hiking, and more. Children, grades 7 to 12, have an on site school, and others attend school in the surrounding area.  The residents attend church services in the community or on campus, and age-appropriate Bible studies are offered on a voluntary basis. However, The Ranches is not affiliated with any church denomination, and residents make spiritual decisions based on their own choices.
