Samaritan House, Inc. is the main non-profit agency addressing homelessness and poverty in San Miguel County. It has grown from an overnight transient facility to an organization that provides critical services such as emergency shelter, food (both warm meals and groceries), affordable used clothing and household goods, housing assistance, and client support. Has a shelter at 1000 Mills, and a thrift store at 720 Legion Drive.
Samaritan House collaborates with the public, non-profits and faith based organizations to provide a continuum of care to those in crisis due to homelessness, poverty or disability while seeking social transformation by identifying and addressing the causes of poverty at the local level.
We seek social transformation by identifying and effectively addressing the various reasons for poverty, toward dignified sustainable self-sufficiency of individuals and families.
