The goal of the New Mexico Medical Cannabis Conference is to give all New Mexicans the opportunity to gain information that will enhance their knowledge of medical cannabis and its best practices. Ultimately, we want our community to feel empowered with knowledge on what they should expect from their medicine.
At the 3rd Annual NM Medical Cannabis Conference we are including a free Continuing Education Credit course for physicians in our community. With the opioid epidemic impacting so many (in 2016 11.5 million people misused prescription opioids and 42,249 died from opioids overdose*), we believe that we should offer physicians education that can help them make the best choices for patients and their needs. Although this CME course is taking place at the medical cannabis conference, the course itself focuses on safe opioid prescribing and pain management. The CMEs earned at this course are provided by the University of New Mexico Dept. of Family & Community Medicine and presented by Robert Rhyne, MD.
