UNMSLHC offers audiology and speech services to the general public. Clinical services are provided by graduate students under direct supervision of licensed American Speech-Language Hearing Association-certified clinical instructors, with expertise in hearing, speech, language, voice, and early childhood communication.
At the UNM Speech-Language-Hearing Center, clients include all age groups, from infants to older adults. The Center provides a range of services including accent modification, aphasia, apraxia of speech, articulation, auditory processing disorders, aural rehabilitation, autism spectrum disorders, brain injury rehabilitation, dysarthria due to a variety of neurological disorders, language delay, stuttering, voice, and voice and communication therapy for clients who are transgender or transsexual. The UNMSLHC offers Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) evaluations and treatment.
