STEM-H Center is responsible for the operation of the Central NM Science & Engineering Research Challenge and Central NM Science Olympiad competitions. We also offer STEM Student Research Workshops, STEM Teacher Professional Development Workshops, Comprehensive Website, Consultant/Expert Identification Program, Student Research/Teacher Resource CD-ROM, Coaches.
The UNM STEM-H Center advances STEM-H teaching and learning through outreach, research and education activities. Our mission is accomplished by, but not limited to development of strategic STEM-H education focused partnerships and collaborations among UNM faculty-staff and within the community (public-private) to increase and sustain engagement as well as create opportunities to increase the collective impact of STEM-H education related activities; development, facilitation and/or coordination of innovative STEM-H Educator Professional Development opportunities; development, facilitation and/or coordination of STEM-H focused student learning opportunities (workshops, etc.); administer STEM-H focused academic competitions for 4th-12th grade students; engage in STEM-H education focused policy research and advocacy; and provide excellent customer service throughout all of our activities.
