Wheels Museum

The WHEELS Museum, located on the historic Railyards in Downtown Albuquerque, was founded in 1999 and is a volunteer-run 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.  WHEELS mission is to collect, preserve, display, and interpret artifacts and infrastructure related to the transportation history of New Mexico and the exploration and development of the Western U.S.  Our goal is to delight, educate and inform our visitors about our heritage, to show its influence on the people, landscape and built environment of New Mexico.

WHEELS vision is to preserve the Albuquerque Railyard site, honor the people who have worked there and the history of Albuquerque and to educate visitors about the history and future of transportation in a way which is quirky, unique, and different from any other museum.
