Program is offered at Lincoln Middle School in Rio Rancho for its students with Autism. Program is offered 3 days/week after school and provides individualized assistance and activities in the areas of functional academics, communication, socialization, physical fitness and nutrition. Students prepare their own nutritional snack. Ratio of staff to student is generally 1:3; specialized testing is administered before and after program to determine progress in different skills as well as to identify future skills to work on with each student. Expansion is being requested at other schools by parents and teachers; funding is major issue.
