Community Parent Resource Center which provides training and information to parents of Indian children with disabilities. Training focuses on parent rights and responsibilities within the special education process. Training also addresses the Bureau of Indian Affairs' (BIA) special education procedures and standards. Training and information is provided in the parent's native language as needed. Training topics include record keeping, Medicaid assistance, effective communication with service providers, transition to adult living and parent rights and responsibilities in the special education program. Work with other parent training and intake in outreaching efforts to serve American Indian families whose children have special needs.
The mission of Abrazos Family Support Services is to improve the lives of children and adults with, or at risk for, developmental disabilities and their families by providing specialized services in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties. Abrazos is committed to providing meaningful and dignified support for all individuals with developmental delays and developmental disabilities.
