To qualify, a defendant must get a referral from an outside agency and provide documentation to the court that he or she is actively working on improving their quality of life and addressing the issues that initiated homelessness. The judge, three private defense attorneys, and two Assistant District Attorneys work with defendants in Outreach Court sessions. This court is unique in that it takes the court to the community. Outreach Court is scheduled monthly and holds court in locations convenient to the defendants. Cases heard in this court have not been adjudicated.
