Researching and influencing public policy: staff engage in non-legislative activities including research, education legal and policy development on the following issues: clean air, clean water, and conservation. We research, write, and release reports to the public and decision makers to educate and share information about important environmental issues. Past reports include topics such as solar energy installed throughout New Mexico, water quality including a toolkit to get lead out of school water, and impacts of fracking through the state.
Environment New Mexico Research & Policy Center is a 501(c)(3) organization. We are dedicated to protecting our air, water and open spaces. We investigate problems, craft solutions, educate the public and decision-makers, and help the public make their voices heard in local, state and national debates over the quality of our environment and our lives.
