This program serves to develop and integrate local public safety advisories and emergency management protocols, using the community radio station KMRD-LP broadcasting at 96.9FM in collaboration with the Madrid Volunteer Fire District (MVFD) and other local resources.

The program:

Maintains and updates the Emergency Alert System (EAS) assigned to KMRD-LP.
Broadcasts seasonally-appropriate Public Service Announcements created by the MVFD.
Integrates relevant information and implements procedures from Santa Fe County Emergency Management.
Develops emergency back-up communications systems for local networks and outlets.
Educates the public on how to access information in the event of an emergency.
