The Bridge of Southern New Mexico rallies Dona Ana County’s leaders in education, business, economic development and government toward two goals: Increasing graduation/completion rates for high school, community college, and university students; and building a diverse, highly skilled workforce to meet the needs of business and economic development.
Thanks to the efforts of The Bridge, Dona Ana County's high school graduate has skyrocketed from under 50% in 2007 to now the highest county-wide rate in the state at 81%. The Bridge launched the first Early College High School in the state, and due to the success of the model (which graduates students at near 100%), there are now 22 Early College High Schools statewide. Bringing those successes to scale to affect even more studnets, The Bridge is now focused on strengthening New Mexico's Career and Technical Education pathways for students and leading the state on the case to support strengthening of New Mexico's Dual Credit Program, which improves high school and college completion rates.
Through the mission-aligned Workforce Talent Collaborative, we’ve created the state’s first workforce development plan aligned to economic development targets, harnessing existing county assets. We’ve created clear, connected career pathways to higher-skilled, higher-paying, opportunities in growing industries.
