The School Zone - Taos convenes nonprofits and school leaders every quarter to develop and discuss shared goals and strategies, data collection and management, and collaboration. Professional development training is offered at each meeting. These discussions, couple with development of professional learning communities, will increase the collective impact of these organizations on better outcomes for Taos schoolchildren.
The School Zone–Taos (TSZ-Taos), a community project of Taos Community Foundation, is a collective impact partnership between nonprofits and public and charter schools, engaging students, caregivers, and the Taos community to work together to improve student outcomes.TSZ-Taos is a community-based project launched in June 2015, a multi-year, multi-partner road map for school improvement, guided in part by the working Strategic Plan of Taos Municipal School District, in consultation with the Budd Center at SMU. It is modeled after a successful evidence-based program and based on the premise of involving communities in education.
