Tree New Mexico’s ABQ NeighborWoods program organizes tree events, planting 100 trees and giving away 100 trees in neighborhoods across Albuquerque. We have increased the trees in Albuquerque by almost 4,000 in a collaborative effort between Tree New Mexico staff, the neighborhood association leaders, and the neighborhood’s city councilor. This program is funded by Albuquerque City Councilor’s discretionary funds and the neighborhood is chosen by the councilor.
This community-building program introduces neighbors to each other and supports neighbors in their community. Enhancing urban tree canopy provides for safer, healthier neighborhoods in addition to the environmental and energy savings benefits. Property values can increase up to 15% with mature trees.
Contact your City Councilor's office to bring ABQ NeighborWoods to your neighborhood.
Tree New Mexico is dedicated to helping communities plant and care for trees in urban settings - large and small - throughout The Land of Enchantment.
