Established as a no-kill rescue, we are a safe haven for homeless, abandoned and abused pets through rescue/placement. We have youth outreach programs to create awareness of spay/neuter and pet care and instill children and youth self-esteem and confidence.
As New Mexico’s largest no-kill animal shelter, Watermelon Mountain Ranch’s mission is to foster compassion and end animal suffering. While much of our focus rests on bettering the lives of companion animals, we are advocates for the humane treatment of all animals. We provide animal surrender, sheltering, sterilization, vaccinations, and adoption programs for the people and pets in our community and believe all who enter will find love.
