For over 30 years, WC’s creative youth development program has provided students with rigorous artistic training with professional artists, paid internships and life skills. WC’s Youth Art Center, located just south of downtown Albuquerque, is comprised of two visual art studios, a new media lab, a black box theater, costume shop and academic resource room. In a district that reports a 66% high school graduation rate, 95% of WC students graduate from high school and 80% enroll in college. Theater Program; Visual Arts; Media ArtsProgram;Tutoring Program
Working Classroom cultivates the artistic, civic, and academic minds of youth through in-depth arts projects with contemporary artists to amplify historically ignored voices, resist systemic injustices, and imagine a more equitable society. We support and connect our students to professional opportunities so they contribute to the creative economy and build a better world. WC believes that the arts are key to building a sustainable and creative workforce. We strive to increase the representation of youth of color pursuing creative careers and/or acheiving higher education.
