YDI Early Head Start center based program serves children ages 6 weeks through 2 years in Bernalillo, Taos, and Rio Arriba counties.
Early Head Start promotes the school readiness of children by enhancing their cognitive, social, and emotional development. YDI implements research-based curricula that align with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework. Comprehensive services include the active engagement of families, nutrition and health services and education, and support for children with disabilities.
Applicants may qualify by Income (and the Federal Poverty Guideline) or Categorical Eligibility (SNAP, TANF, SSI, Homelessness, or Foster Care). Early Head start center based clients automatically qualify to transition to YDI Head Start (years 3-5) services.
