The Not Forgotten Outreach Farmers Project provides veterans, Gold Star Families and survivors of fallen Heroes with horticulture therapy, business and agriculture education helping them become successful farmers. By creating an open, relaxed environment and working together to overcome physical and mental barriers, returning veterans and Gold Star Families can reintegrate gracefully and productively into America’s rural communities.
• Training conducted by expert speakers on topics in agriculture and agriculture business. • Providing Raised vegetable beds, and fields to grow fruits and vegetables to sell at Taos farmers market. • Create an atmosphere for Veterans to become more comfortable socializing with the public. • Providing a combination of work, therapy, education and socialization to help veterans and Gold Star Families, reintegrate into society through sustainable agriculture training. • Collaborating and working with local farmers, organic associations, and community business leaders. • Adaptive Farm Equipment, linking physically challenged farmers to the newest adaptive equipment technology
Not Forgotten Outreach’s mission is to motivate Military, Veterans & their Families and Gold Star families of fallen heroes to participate in recreational, therapeutic and farming activities in order to facilitate the healing process and reintegration challenges. The vision of Not Forgotten Outreach (NFO) is to create a place where veterans and their families reach deeply within themselves and the soil to make themselves more peaceful and productive in our communities.
