Veterans and their families face numerous challenges after the military member completes their service and returns home. These include physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness. Connecting with other veterans and family members that have faced such challenges gives them the hope as well as the practical support they need to become vital members of their families and the communities in which they live.
Not Forgotten Outreach, Inc. is dedicated to motivating Military, Veterans & their Families and Gold Star families of fallen heroes to participate in recreational and/or therapeutic activities in order to facilitate the healing process and reintegration challenges.
The Taos VA Contract Community Outpatient Clinic (CCBOC) provides minimal healthcare services. (Since the Taos VA clinic is contracted, the normal wait time for CAM treatment consults and authorization can take up to 5 months)
Our services wait time is less than 30 days and are tailored to meet the unique challenges faced by military veterans and family members, and especially disabled combat veterans. Our services are provided by veterans who understand and continue their journey in recovery and healing.
We have received volunteer services from Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, Shadow Mountain Recovery, Vista Taos Recovery Center, Southern Methodist University (Taos Campus), University of New Mexico, AmeriCorps, Nonviolence Works - Familia y Mundo Youth Therapy Program, Field Institute of Taos, and Taos County Drug and Alcohol Program.
Not Forgotten Outreach’s mission is to motivate Military, Veterans & their Families and Gold Star families of fallen heroes to participate in recreational, therapeutic and farming activities in order to facilitate the healing process and reintegration challenges. The vision of Not Forgotten Outreach (NFO) is to create a place where veterans and their families reach deeply within themselves and the soil to make themselves more peaceful and productive in our communities.
