Parents as Teachers

The Parents as Teachers program is designed for expectant parent and parents of children from birth to age three. Families can receive a home visit and attend a group meeting each month. The home visit supports families by providing educational guidance that is relevant to the child's development and home environment. Monthly group meetings help families develop friendships and form new support networks. Parents have an opportunity to share common experiences and concerns.  For more information please contact Maggie Tevault at mtevault@pinonproject.org.

Parent Organization
Pinon Project

The Piñon Project Family Resource Center is a nonprofit organization that originated in 1994 as a result of a community grassroots effort under the Healthy Communities Initiative. Through the initiative, Montezuma County engaged in a process of creating a statement of vision for our community’s future. The Piñon Project is a member of The Family Resource Center Association (FRCA)'s unique network of 24 family resource centers that work with the entire family to help them become more self-reliant in areas that affect their family stability; including parenting, health, education, employment, housing, and financial management.
