Responsible Fatherhood program: A two-hour per week (26 week; open entry) evening group for fathers following the Responsible Fatherhood curriculum. Included is free on-site child care, snacks and transportation assistance to and from group meetings if needed. Four weeks of communication skills training using the Core Communication curriculum. Family Development Planning, case management and support. Recreational activities to promote parent-child-bonding. Peer support.Pinon Project also provides other services to dads including, reduced fees for supervised visitation and safe exchanges to fathers who participate in the fatherhood program. The Responsible Fatherhood Program meets each Wednesday evening in the Pinon Projects training annex. Transportation assistance, in the form of gas cards, can e provided to any father who needs it .Two fatherhood coordinators lead each group session. The Pinon Project: The Tree House Early Learning Center serves children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. licensed in the State of Colorado and are a Qualistar rating of 3 (out of 4). We contract with Head Start and the Cortez School District-Colorado Pre-school Program. Each classroom offers a developmentally approprate curriclum based on the creative curriculum check points.
The Piñon Project Family Resource Center is a nonprofit organization that originated in 1994 as a result of a community grassroots effort under the Healthy Communities Initiative. Through the initiative, Montezuma County engaged in a process of creating a statement of vision for our community’s future. The Piñon Project is a member of The Family Resource Center Association (FRCA)'s unique network of 24 family resource centers that work with the entire family to help them become more self-reliant in areas that affect their family stability; including parenting, health, education, employment, housing, and financial management.
