VCI offers industry standard interpreter trainings in the medical, social services and education fields using two separate courses Bridging the Gap (medical only) and the Community Interpreter International (medical, social services and education). All of our courses are accepted by both accredited national certifying bodies and satisfy the national certification training requirements. Our trainings do not provide the national interpreter certification, we are a certificate training and once you complete the program you will be a qualified interpreter, the first step towards national certification. National healthcare interpreter certification is granted by two separate national organizations: The Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters and the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters. To obtain national interpreter certification you must go through a separate process and pass the oral and written exams developed by these two national organizations.
Valley Community Interpreters is committed to improving and increasing language access at all levels of New Mexican society. We do this by providing cultural competency and interpreter training to bilingual healthcare, community and emergency services, education professionals and bilingual community members.
Valley Community Interpreters is structured using an innovative hybrid business model. Valley Community Interpreters, LLC provides training for medical, social services and education professionals. The Bilingual Community Interpreter Training identifies, assesses and trains bilingual community members, with foundation support, to enter the interpreter profession, and provides mentoring and guidance to pursue work in the telephonic and video remote industry.
