Animal Humane is New Mexico's oldest and largest private animal welfare agency. Our campus is equipped to care for 140+ cats/dogs at any time and offers a variety of facilities and services to support our life-saving mission. Animal Humane has adopted 100% of the healthy pets in its care since January 2010.
We offer New Mexico's only Donor-subsidized Veterinary Clinic for low-income pet owners, including spay/neuter surgeries for owned pets and community cats, special surgeries, and routine preventative care.
Rewards-based Train Humane classes are offered throughout the year. Learn Humane teaches young children about responsible pet ownership. 505 Pit Crew combines humane education regarding dog fighting and provides students with the education and tools needed for responsible dog ownership.
We distribute pet food through our Pet Food Bank to pet owners in need, statewide rescue groups and homebound senior citizens.
We provide FREE assistance to people and their pets through our Behavior Helpline, designed to keep pets with their owners.
The mission of Animal Humane New Mexico is to support and improve the lives of New Mexico's cats and dogs through sheltering, adoptions, humane education and veterinary services.
